Policy on the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies

The scientific journal recognizes the possibility of using artificial intelligence (AI) tools and digital technologies as auxiliary means in the preparation of scientific publications, provided that the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and authors’ responsibility are observed. The use of AI does not release authors from responsibility for the originality, reliability, and scientific accuracy of the submitted materials.

PERMISSIBLE AREAS OF THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
Authors may use AI tools solely as an auxiliary instrument for:

  • language editing and stylistic improvement of the text without changing its scientific content;
  • translation of texts;
  • preparation of the manuscript structure or summarizing the authors’ own materials;
  • technical formatting of the text in accordance with the journal’s requirements.
In the event of AI use, the author must indicate this in the “Acknowledgements” or “Notes” section of the article. The GAIDeT declaration may be generated using the following link: https://panbibliotekar.github.io/gaidet-declaration/index-uk.html

PROHIBITED AREAS OF THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
In order to preserve academic integrity, the use of AI is prohibited for:

  • creating the main scientific content of the article, including the formulation of hypotheses, scientific conclusions, theoretical provisions, and research results;
  • generating or falsifying empirical data, calculation results, statistical samples, experimental results, or case studies;
  • imitating authorship, including submitting materials fully or predominantly generated by AI as the author’s own scientific work;
  • manipulating bibliographic sources, including the creation of fictitious or incorrect references, DOIs, journal titles, or author names;
  • automated writing of reviews or editorial conclusions, as well as the participation of AI in the process of making editorial decisions;
  • undisclosed use of AI without appropriate disclosure of its application.

RESPONSIBILITY AND SANCTIONS. In the event of violations of the AI use policy, the editorial board reserves the right to:

  • reject the manuscript at any stage of consideration;
  • retract an already published article;
  • inform the institution represented by the author;
  • temporarily or permanently restrict the possibility of further publications in the journal.

The editorial board reserves the right to update this policy in accordance with technological developments and international standards of publication ethics.
