Title:Stock exchange instruments in risk management of agricultural manufacturers
Author:Tyagnyryadno O. M., National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine
Annotation:Research methodology. The methodological basis of the study was the concept of unpredictable events of Nasim Taleba. When carrying out the research, such methods of general scientific knowledge were used: the historical and logical method – in performing a retrospective analysis of the formation and development of exchange-traded instruments; abstraction – in forming the concept of risks; systematization – in forming a theoretical approach to risk management by using futures contracts. Results. The author substantiates theoretical provisions and methodological approaches to the development of alternative risk management strategies through exchange instruments, namely: through derivative financial instruments – options. The importance of forming the theoretical foundations of the nature of the risks that domestic producers of agricultural products may encounter is substantiated. The stages of formation of derivatives of stock exchange instruments are identified and analyzed, the modern classical approach to risk management is considered more thoroughly through the use of derivatives of stock exchange instruments – futures. The main advantages and disadvantages of using futures for the purpose of hedging are highlighted. Novelty. The theoretical approach to risk management through the use of futures contracts has been improved. The assessment of the historical stages of development of the use of derivatives of stock exchange instruments is carried out. A new approach to risk management is proposed by using the Collar option strategy. Practical value. Collar hedging strategy can be used to protect high-risk assets.
