Annotation:	The paper describes the dependency between the quality of the mined coal and its cost price. The analysis and classification of the factors influencing the quality of coal are performed as well. In addition to that, we suggest a number of approaches to determining the cost prices of the coal basing on the combinations of the values of investigated factors. An overview and systematization of scientific works devoted to this area of investigations is also performed.
