Annotation:	The foreign experience of establishing development banks is generalized. The main directions of investment activity of development banks are considered. The potential advantages and risks of operation of the State development bank of Ukraine are defined. It is proved that the State development bank can become one of perspective investors in domestic economy to promote the increase in average and long-term crediting of investment and innovative projects.
