Title:Current trends in the digitalisation of the economy: transformation of the business model of an enterprise
Authors:Kundieieva G. O., State Tax University,

Annotation:Methods. The study uses a comprehensive approach that involves analysis of literary sources, a systematic approach to researching the digital transformation of a company’s business model, analysis and synthesis to determine the advantages and challenges of introducing digital business models into companies’ activities, and structural and functional analysis to identify the components of a digital business model. Results. Approaches to defining business models, on the basis of which the concept of a digital business model is formed, were analysed. Five main reasons for business model transformation were considered. Two approaches to digital transformation were considered. According to the first approach, the company selects the digital technologies that are appropriate for it. According to the second one, technologies are selected first, and then companies and specific areas of their business models are sought in which the implementation of technologies seems appropriate. Six common features that distinguish a business model capable of realising the potential of technology are examined. The transformation of existing business models into a new quality can be achieved through innovative and/or adaptive approaches. The digitalisation of a business model combines the capabilities of modern technologies with market challenges, which necessitates a thorough analysis of the customer and resource blocks of the digital business model. The digitalization of the business model is related to the positions of digital service (software) developers, as well as to the business models of enterprises that use digital technologies and digital services. Novelty. Two approaches are proposed: innovative and adaptive, regarding the transformation into a new quality of business models already used by entrepreneurial structures. Practical value. The specified algorithm for making decisions on the application of the ‘company-technology’ or ‘technology-company’ approach will allow decision-makers to make a more informed choice. The application of an innovative and adaptive approach to the transformation of existing business models contributes to increasing the flexibility and competitiveness of enterprises.
